Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Intensive Outpatient Program

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Intensive Outpatient Program

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a comprehensive therapeutic technique created by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. and shown to be effective for treating a variety of difficult-to-treat behavioral health conditions. DBT is particularly effective in treating individuals struggling from self-harming behaviors and suicidal thoughts, as well as those with Borderline Personality Disorder.

At Psychiatric Solutions, we are proud to offer DBT to our patients in Butte County and surrounding communities. DBT is an effective treatment for many people with mood disorders who don’t respond well to traditional therapy. It has also proven to be effective in treating people who easily or frequently experience intense emotional crises.

What can you expect as a DBT patient?

We use our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) format to deliver DBT. IOP is a higher level of care than traditional, once-a-week outpatient therapy. As our DBT patient, you will benefit from weekly individual sessions with caring and qualified therapists. We wish to help you regain control of your life through our comprehensive and personalized approach to behavioural health conditions.

As a DBT patient, you can expect the following:

  • Meet 3 times per week, 3 hours per session, for group skills training for a total of 30 sessions (12:30 p.m. to 3:20 p.m., Monday through Thursday)
  • Live phone coaching (as needed)
  • Free transportation available for local patients

Our Team Has 20 Years of Combined Experience

We are proud to have a team of board-certified psychiatrists and behavioural health professionals who care about the specific needs of our patients. If you are interested in DBT, we would be happy to provide you with more information about our new program.
